Lives
We have two lives and the second one begins when you realize you only have one.
We have two lives and the second one begins when you realize you only have one.
I just got back from Trillium hospital where my father is, as I write, having bypass surgery. These are the moments that you see how much things have changed, as we grow older so do our parents and you are now looking after them. It make me wonder about all those childless people out there, who will take care of them? Who will unconditionally be there for them? No one, ever, wants to be a burden on their children, but it is a circle of life we all go through and pass over to our children. I am now sitting waiting for a call from his Doctor to tell me how it all went. I think I am okay as this is pretty routine but there is that tiny little piece of me that is clinched till I hear otherwise. So for now, I just ask my Angels to take good care of my dad.
It won’t be long until I’m gone, remember me.
Those quiet early mornings when everything is still, remember me.
That is how I’ll know a piece of me will always be.
